3 WEEK EVENING COURSE
£200 per person
Includes 4 hours of guided reading with Claire Cartwright, intimate Q&A with writer, Ella Hickson, plus recap notes, food, drink and theatre ticket.
There is something so relevant about this play that there have been two productions back to back in London. As Hamlet says, theatre serves, “to show… the very age and body of the time his form and pressure.” This is about action and inaction, fate and free will, willful blindness and so much more. It is an ancient play for modern times.
We will read sections of Sophocles’ OEDIPUS REX in person (De Beauvoir, N1). We will then go to THE OLD VIC in London for ELLA HICKSON’S adaptation, directed by MATTHEW WARCHUS and starring RAMI MALEK and INDIRA VARMA
Our dates for OEDIPUS are:
Thursday 6th March 7pm - 9pm
Thursday 13th March 7pm - 9pm - joined by none other than playwright, Ella Hickson herself!
Thursday 20th March 7:30pm, we will go to the THE OLD VIC in London
