Setting the scene: Just as Spring is emerging with its flourishes of colour, so too are you evenings being enlivened by the twinkly mischievous spring of Shakespeare’s Henry IV plays. There’s wine, laughs and japes a’plenty. But also some serious consideration of Kingship, friendship and loyalty.

Shakespeare wrote this story in two parts and Robert Icke is bringing them together in one play. We will spend three weeks on each play, reading the most relevant scenes and discussing the story and ideas as a whole. So when you see the show you will have everything you need to catch every bit of it!

We will read sections of both HENRY IV Parts 1 and 2 at Claire’s cosy home in Islington and then go to the NOEL COWARD THEATRE for ROBERT ICKE’s adaptation of Henry IV Parts 1 and 2, THE PLAYER KINGS.
